OUR STORY

BEEKEEPERS FIRST

Moore Honey was founded in 1999 when Chris Moore, a first-generation beekeeper, acquired a bankrupt bee operation. Since then, the challenges of beekeeping have grown significantly, making it more difficult than ever. As a result, many so-called "beekeepers" have turned to importing honey from other states and even overseas at lower costs, often mislabeling it as "Local" or "Texas" honey.

In 2014, in response to this growing issue, we began bottling our own honey and offering it directly to local consumers.

By 2024, we are proud to bottle and sell 100% of the honey we produce under the Moore Honey name.

MOORE BEES

LOCAL

Beekeeping is a challenging and delicate process, as keeping bees alive is no easy task, and honey production is neither simple nor inexpensive. Now managed by Chris and Jake Moore, a second-generation beekeeper, we are committed to advancing our operation and increasing our production of authentic Texas honey.

Currently, we maintain around 3,000 colonies spread across more than 70 locations in six counties throughout Southeast Texas, all dedicated to producing local, real Texas honey.

AMERICAN FARMING

POLLINATION

Twice a year, we relocate our operation to support American agriculture by providing pollination services to almond growers in California's Central Valley and seedless watermelon producers in Texas.

Without bees, these crops could not be produced.

While our bees occasionally produce honey from neighboring cotton fields during watermelon pollination, they do not make honey from watermelon flowers or almond trees.
